Incorporating Summer Music"Hitting all the right notes" "There is not any music of instruments whatsoever comparable to that which is made of the voices of men". "Since singing is so good a thing I wish all men would learn to sing" William Byrd 1588 |
Tutor(s): Robert Hammersley, Steven Rickards
Steven Rickards takes a class in which it will be possible to work on music composed from early times up to 1759 (ie including Bach & Handel). Singers submit a list of repertoire at the beginning of the course from which a programme will be drawn up. Please note that the lutenist Dorothy Linell will be present on the Wednesday and Thursday, to work on Lute Songs – so bring at least one. Emma Kirkby’s Masterclass on Tuesday will be principally of interest for those on this course, and will feature singers chosen by Audition at Ardingly on Sunday August 16th. [Offer a Baroque song composed between 1600 & 1750] |
